Expectant Mothers get expertise tips on pregnancy at LifeCell’s Antenatal Workshop in Bangalore

Bangalore, March 14, 2010: LifeCell International Pvt. Ltd., the pioneers in umbilical cord stem cell banking, research & therapy in India, organized a one day antenatal workshop for expectant mothers in Bangalore today at the Taj Gateway Hotel. The workshop was conducted by Ms. Rekha Sudarshan, a psychologist and antenatal specialist from Chennai and saw participation from many excited parents.

The workshop was designed with an aim to enlighten and empower these future moms and prepare them for the process of labour and birth. The workshop educated the to-be-parents on what they can expect during each of the pregnancy stages. The session served as an open forum for expecting parents to discuss their fears and anxiety. The specialist shared various tips which would help the would-be mothers understand and respond to the many physical, psychological and hormonal changes that come along the period of pregnancy. The workshop also had a session that discussed on the required diet and nutrition for pregnant women. Besides these the trainer demonstrated some relaxation techniques, complicated ‘pelvic exercises’ for muscle relaxation besides some regular pre -natal and-post natal exercises which would help the participants to undergo a safe and uncomplicated pregnancy.

Overall the workshop was educative and the participants were given plenty of tips and advice so that the moms to be can relax and look forward to the amazing journey of labour, birth and beyond. Besides the women even the to-be-fathers enjoyed the session thoroughly and actively participated in conversing with the antenatal specialist to understand their roles and resolve their queries. The workshop boosted the confidence of the participants in their own body and their ability to give birth with ease.
